PAMAG Dental Mission in Dagupan City
PAMAG hosted a successful dental mission in celebration of the National Dental Health Month at Mamalingling Elementary School, Dagupan City last March 3, 2023. The event was organized by dentistry students from the Lyceum-Northwestern University with the help of Dean Evangeline Padlan and facilitated by Dr. Hazel Alipio and Dr. Sheryl Cruz, in partnership with Rotary Club of Uptown Dagupan.
During the mission, 200 Mamalingling Elementary school pupils from kinder to grade 2 were taught proper brushing techniques and oral hygiene. The LNU dentistry students emphasized the significance of early oral hygiene habits and their impact on overall health.
PAMAG supported the LNU dentistry students in their community outreach as part of their curriculum by providing dental and hygiene kits for the beneficiaries of the school. PAMAG sponsored the dental hygiene kits in honor of its past president Dr. Vic Bautista. Rotary’s PP Nathaniel Alipio sponsored the meals of the pupils and PP Mae Tañedo supplied the photo/video documentation of the event for media promotion.
PAMAG, Rotary and L-NU endeavor to maintain the health and well-being of the youth and their beautiful smiles.

A Thank You Message From Charlene Inao, PAMAG Scholar in the Be My Lab Partner Program
Charlene Inao graduated July 31, 2022 from UP Diliman with a degree in BS Chemistry program with Honors (Cum Laude). Here’s her message:
Studying during a pandemic was not easy. There were several adjustments I had to make given my circumstances, but I was fortunate enough to have the Philippine American Medical Association of Georgia’s support as I transitioned to remote learning back in 2020 until I finished my degree this year. It would have been a heavier struggle for me to complete my college education on time if it weren’t for their active assistance in giving me a better learning environment despite the online set-up. Through their help, I am now a BS Chemistry degree holder. With this education, I wish to work as a chemist in the industry and contribute to the advancement of science in the Philippines especially now that it is most needed.
Again, thank you very much for your support. I will always be grateful to your organization.

New PAMAG/UPKAA Scholar

We would like to introduce Ainjelou Marie Arce, our new Study Now Pay Later PAMAG/UPKAA Scholar. She recently graduated from UP Diliman with high honors (magna cum laude). She finished BS Family Life and Child Development with an aim of going into medical school. She was accepted as part of the 2022-2023 freshman batch at University of the East Ramon Magsaysay College of Medicine. Working all through college while maintaining high grades, she impressed us with her dedication and hard work. Her mother, who is a public school teacher in Lucena City, Quezon, had been her main source of financial support . We are proud to help her attain her goal of becoming a doctor and servint the people of Quezon. We hope to support her in this path and offer her a chance to fulfill her dreams.

We would like to congratulate Ms. Karizza Reopta who recently graduated with a degree in BS Business Economics cum laude. She accomplished this even while working part time and actively participating in UP Kalilayan, a student organization in Diliman that not only fosters close ties amongst students from Quezon Province but also gives back with numerous projects undertaken by both current members and its alumni. We wish you the best and MABUHAY!

PAMAG Donation of Books and Used Clothes to Kal-Anan Elementary School
Ms. Rowena Dungog, Principal of Kal-Anan Elementary School in Tabogon, Cebu received the donation of children’s books and used clothes for the school as part of PAMAG’s Books for the Barrios program. This was made possible by the generosity of Dr. Arlene Dijamco and family and Atlas Balikbayan Shipping.
Kal-Anan Elementary school was one of the original recipients of a school building with two classrooms after the devastation of Typhoon Yolanda in 2013. After that, PAMAG had continued their support with books, school supplies, used clothing through PAMAG’s Books for the Barrios Program. With the Covid pandemic forcing schools into remote lessons, PAMAG continued their support of the school with more school supplies and printers for the school. Hopefully, with the continued support of PAMAG, the school children will enjoy learning by reading and the teachers will also benefit from our donations.

PAMAG & RCUD GIFTS TO THE COASTAL COMMUNITY OF DAGUPAN CITY
The Rotary Club of Uptown Dagupan and PAMAG brought compassion to the scavengers in Bonuan Gueset. They are referred as “manga-ngalakal” in Filipino vernacular. They collect discarded plastics, bottles, papers, and metals and sell these recyclable materials. Bonuan Gueset is located in the coastal area of Dagupan City. These low-income families are vital to the collection of said recyclable materials in the coastal area and it is their primary source of income. Previous projects awarded five “manga-ngalakal” tri-bikes donated by the club through the Rotary District grant as a livelihood enabler to help them become more effective at collecting recyclable materials which translates to a DIRECT POSITIVE IMPACT AT CONSERVING THE ENVIRONMENT.
In addition, PAMAG in memory of its Past President Dr. Victor Bautista, and RC Uptown Dagupan distributed 20 grocery packs to these families last June 29, 2022. The grocery packs contained rice, noodles, milk, loaf of bread with spread, canned goods, coffee biscuits, and multivitamins for children. We hope that these food packs bring some immediate relief to their families and that future projects can help improve their livelihood.
